Duties of the Clerk
As Custodian and Accountant of County Funds
- Keeping the Board’s accounts
- Receiving and depositing funds of the county
- Keeping an accurate and complete set of books
- Investing excess county funds
As County Auditor
- Verify expenditures are for a lawful and public purpose
- Inspect and examine all accounts of the Board at all times
- Act as a “watchdog” of the Board’s financial activities
