Levy County Records: A Treasure Trove of History – 5/7/25

The Clerk of Court is the official recorder and custodian of all documents placed in the Levy County official records. Our goal is to provide access to the public while protecting and preserving these important records.

To ensure the preservation and protection of our county’s records, we have implemented the following process for public access, effective immediately:

1. Appointment Required: All individuals wishing to access the archives must schedule an appointment with the Clerk of Court office by calling 352-486-5266 Ext. 1229 or emailing [email protected]. Appointments will be scheduled during regular business hours, Monday through Friday, 8am – 5pm.

2. Supervised Access: An authorized county employee must accompany all visitors during their time in the archive room to assist with retrieving and properly handling documents. This ensures the protection of our irreplaceable records.

3. Document Security: No documents may leave the Clerk of Court’s offices. This policy is strictly enforced to safeguard our county’s historical assets.

Clerk of Court Matt Brooks understands the importance of public access, while protecting and preserving Levy County history.
